Well its official my Tuesday nights are no longer dull and tedious I watched this new sitcom last night called Heading Out written by Sue Perkins it’s all based around a vets surgery as well as exploring issues such as turning forty for the first time and coming to terms with your sexual identity.
It’s really funny and very well written the first episode was last night so if you haven’t already seen it I’d recommend that you check it out on BBC iPlayer, I’m promoting it because I was actually asked to watch it by a friend of mine who’d seen promotional clips on YouTube and wanted to know what I thought of it well as a viewer I genuinely enjoyed watching it and as a blogger I’m happy to promote it to all my readers.
So I can safely say that Tuesdays will no longer be dull television viewing for me at least for a while anyway while it’s still being shown at the moment, I hope that more episodes get commissioned but it just depends on how many people actually watch the sitcom but I’m sure a good number of people did tune into BBC Two last night so that’s something I suppose.
Whatever the outcome I’m sure they’ll be a steady audience for the show at least but if your a sitcom fan like myself and enjoy shows that are well written then I’d recommend that you give this new sitcom a go while it’s being shown on screens.
Well we’re nearly half way through the week and the weekend seems to be getting ever closer it’s funny really all of a sudden it gets to Friday and you sometimes wonder where the weeks gone but that’s probably a good thing as theres nothing worse than a slow week that just drags on and on.
So far I’ve managed to keep up my blog post production going there’s thirteen of them at the moment at least my new years resolution of keeping up with my blog posts has stuck mind you my resolution of walking a bit more and keeping active throughout my day has stuck so it’s not all bad news I suppose.
I’ve been helping to promote Explore Pilates Magazine a lot recently for one of my twitter followers, so I’ve been slightly neglecting you all but I’m all yours now so theres no need to send out an online search party (lol!!) anyway it was really useful for me because I got to explore the process of marketing a magazine and using social media as an additional promotional tool as well as the completed website.
Anyway aside from promoting the Pilates Magazine I’ve also been trying to keep up with my social circle I managed to see a couple of them last weekend for lunch which was really nice and it was lovely to hear what they’d all been up to recently.
I’ll be posting more blog posts very soon,
Well the weekends nearly here and like many of you I’m already thinking about how to make the most it before the Monday morning rush arrives, it’s so hard I think to plan out what to do over two days because one there are never enough hours in the day and two trying to cramp everything in over two days is virtually impossible.
Anyway two days or not I’m planning to make the most of it and hopefully spend time with some friends who I haven’t seen in ages so it’ll be nice to catch up and find out what’s been going on in their lives it’ll also be nice to actually have a conversation with them that’s if I can meet up with them face to face because I think nowadays even though technology means we can keep in touch with people the face to face conversation seems to have died a death because every things communicated by text message or email.
It’s strange really there are actually people who write books about the Art of Conversation but I think that must be really hard because you could only talk about the body language side of it rather than the actual verbal side of conversation because to talk about the verbal aspect you’d have to talk to someone face to face to get any material personally I think it’s better to actually pick something that people are interested in like Sex or Murder for example because at least you’d be able to get a good plot line going and the story would just progress from there, mind you I’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey and well in all honesty it really was awful and in places quite badly written as well, I know there are people who liked it but for me there really wasn’t anything erotic about that book.
Never mind maybe I’m just being cynical and there really was some deep meaning going on that I just didn’t pick up when I read the book, it’s not the only time that this happened to me the most recent occasion was when I went to see Life of Pi I didn’t get that film either maybe I’m just used to being spoon fed but then it can’t be that because if was surely I wouldn’t have understood anything about the film oh well the juries out on that one I suppose.
Happy Friday Everyone and have a lovely weekend whatever your plans are.
Well it’s officially Friday and like myself many of you are planning what to do over the weekend lately though I’ve been running a lot of errands partly because there aren’t always enough hours in the day to complete my blog posts but also because I need to make sure that I stick to my keeping active throughout the day routine.
So far I’ve managed to keep it up and it’s paid off actually which is good but tonight I’ll be ordering a takeaway and hopefully have a couple of friends over to watch a film that’s if myself or they remember that we arranged it last week, so unfortunately the eating sensibly part will go out the window tonight but that’s ok it’s Friday after all and once in while a little bit of indulgence doesn’t do you any harm everything in moderation that’s my mantra in life.
Anyway it’s very quite at the moment because I’m sitting in my lecture room typing this blog post and I’m the only one here!! it’s nice in away because I can actually get this post typed up but the uni really need to do something about attendance I’ve suggested to them in feedback surveys that they should have a ten to fifteen minute window for people to arrive to lecture and if they’re late after fifteen minutes for example then they have to wait until theres a break before they’re allowed into the lecture.
So far my feedback suggestions seem to have fallen on deaf ears or maybe they just don’t care as long as they’re getting the fees personally I’m more inclined to go with the second thing it’s sad really I know but I think thats how it is at the moment I’m hoping that when I go to drama school which I plan to do as soon as I’ve got a few short drama courses under my belt, that this trend won’t continue initially when I first applied to where I am at the moment I did think about doing a top up course so that I’d have another string to my bow but the attendance thing and the organisation in my current course being distinctly lacking it’s made up my mind for that I’m not going to stay here another year.
Which is really bad because it doesn’t say much for the course if people aren’t turning up at all I know there are people who work and that’s fine but if work is taking over your studies then it’s probably wiser to just focus on work rather than hold a place on a course that could be used by someone who will make the most of it.
But the good thing is that because it’s not very organised and the work load isn’t actually that big when you really break it down is that I’ve been able to keep this blog going and have more people reading it so the lack of organisation is the people who read my blog posts gain and it means that I can utilise my time effectively without sitting on Facebook or something like that.
Have a lovely weekend whatever your all planning to do,
Well Februarys officially slowing down and the third day of spring is like a distant memory anyway aside from the weather stuff, last night I watched Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners on Channel4 I’ve been watching it for a little while now and it’s actually ok on balance you’d think that a show about people who can’t stop cleaning every five minutes would be really boring but it’s ended up growing on me (this is what winters reduced me to hibernation).
Anyway as a result I’ve suddenly had the urge to go and buy some new duvet sets partly because on the programme the bedding looks really nice after the people who hasn’t cleaned for years bedrooms have been throughly de-cluttered and it’s made me look at my bedding and think it looks really drab and a little bit out dated, (it’s official I’m getting old) I’m not looking for anything too drastic but maybe a duvet set that’s got a set pattern on it like hearts or something like that.
I’m going to move on now before I start talking about wanting to bake cakes or something along those lines (shock horror) anyhow my blog posting has been fairly consistent as I’ve put up ten posts so far and this one will be number eleven its nice to know that I’ve managed to keep my main new years resolution (god that seems such along time ago now) but then before you know it’ll be new years again scary thought and the really scary thing is that I’d have graduated from uni by then hopefully I’ll be working fingers crossed but then if my best friend how graduated recently from uni before me if she’s managed to get something then it can’t be that difficult.
I’ve got to head off now I’ve been really bad I’ve just been stuck inside pretty much all day but I did manage to go out over lunchtime which was good if I haven’t already said it I’d very quickly like to Thank all those fellow bloggers out there for liking and following my blog you have all been amazing.
Well Valentines Day is officially over and the Second Day of Spring has started in case your wondering what I did for Valentines Day I ended up watching Moulin Rouge and even though I’ve seen it many times before I ended up crying again at the end (oh well never mind) anyway on the plus side spring is officially in the air the sunshine appears to be hanging around for a little while longer I’m secretly praying for a mini heat weave in February but sadly I don’t think it’s going to happen.
I’ve been racking my brains lately for blog post ideas but fortunately my writers block appears to be lifting which is good it’s properly down to the fact I’ve been helping post articles for Explore Pilates Magazine (have a read if you haven’t already) it’s an E and E project that one of my twitter followers is currently doing and as a blogger I said I would help them post articles for their online magazine, it seems to be going well so far hopefully they’ll do well once the projects over they’re ahead of a lot people actually in terms of their work so that’s a good thing.
Anyway aside from all that it was my nephew’s birthday yesterday sadly even though I planned to be there celebrating it with him and the rest of my extended family it wasn’t to be as my sister’s mum was really ill and my sister didn’t want to organise a big party if her mum couldn’t be there to celebrate with everyone which I can understand so my sister organised for my nephew and his friends to go to the cinema instead which all of them enjoyed and the other good thing was her mum was able to give my nephew his presents.
Although on a positive note my sister is going to come to my birthday in May along with some other extended family members so it’ll be lovely to see them all I’ve already got my dress it’s really nice and it’s perfect for the occasion as you could wear it during the day or for an evening out plus it’s really comfortable which is good because theres going to be a lot of food and drink around, I’ve been pretty sensible about what I’ve been eating lately because I really want to look nice in the dress I’m not dieting because they don’t work I’ve just been making sure that I eat three meals a day at least and only snack sparingly it appears to be working and I’m trying to keep moving throughout my day.
I’d better go for a walk and then get something to eat otherwise I’ll be sitting at my desk all day and that’s not good it’ll also mean that my keeping active plan would start to go out the window anyway I’ll be posting some more blog posts soon but I do have some emails to answer, once I’ve finished though I’ll post a few more blog posts.
Well it’s been a little while since I put up a new blog post (damn my memory) anyway I’ve been very busy with ordering my dress for a start for my twenty first birthday it’s really nice and suits the occasion I showed it to my mum and she approved so that’s good but she’ll be the only one who’s seen it the rest of the people who have confirmed they’d like to come will have to wait I’m afraid and so will all of you I know I’m being a bit mean but I’ll upload a picture of the dress once the parties over.
In between coming up with new blog post ideas,I’ve also come across this new online magazine called Explore Pilates (it’s got a Facebook page as well) the whole idea of it is to target the eighteen to twenty five year old market and promote the exercise technique Pilates in the process it’s doing very well at the moment and has a few likes on it’s Facebook and WordPress accounts but if you my lovely readers could follow or like the posts that the online magazine puts up that would be really helpful, I’m already reading it myself when I can and it’s very good so check it out if you can.
Of course it’s Valentines Day today as many of you are probably aware of many of you I’m sure will be spending it with a loved one maybe a parent or close friend probably a girlfriend or boyfriend, as for myself though I’ll be curled up on the sofa probably watching Moulin Rouge which is probably the most romantic film to watch on Valentines Day plus it also fits the theme as the film is all about the two main characters falling in love.
But whatever you decide to do my loyal followers have an amazing evening.
