Well it’s nearly the end of the week and Friday’s just within reach hopefully the weather will be slightly better than it was today fingers crossed anyway last night I went to see Kinder Transport at the local theatre where I do my drama class that’s actually where I’m going tonight funnily enough as it’s Thursday anyway my friend and I had a lovely evening and the show was really enjoyable as well I sort of knew what it was about but I couldn’t remember the rest of the plot but it was amazing to be one row back from the stage the set was great actually plus the acting was amazing as well I hope one day I get to be in a play as good as that I ‘m sure I will one day.
It was nice to be out even if it was a Wednesday but that’s not such a bad thing mind at least there’s nothing good on the tele but tonight I’ll miss Supersize verses Super-skinny and The Un-Dateables which is catching up with the most memorable people who’ve been featured on the show to see what’s happened and whether they’re still looking for a partner or they’ve found someone I think my half brother Alex should go on that show because he really doesn’t know how to talk to people yet alone women mind you most men when it comes to talking to women don’t seem to have much of a clue either so he’s not alone on that front.
Anyway I was tired when I got home but it was great to catch up with my friend who I hadn’t seen for ages because we’d tried to meet up previously and something had either come up with her or with me so it was fabulous to finally have an evening where we could just talk and have a meal as well I took her to this little italian restaurant that I’d been to once and we both had a pizza which were very nice I have to say it was quiet in there but that didn’t matter because it meant we could actually have a conversation without having to over use the word what every five minutes.
Then tomorrow afternoon I’ve got my audition for the old vic theatre community company it’ll be amazing to go there again and be in an environment that’s produced and still does produce amazing plays and companies as well I’m already nervous though I know it’s silly I mean first of all it’s not happening until tomorrow and second of all I’ll be taking part in a workshop which will be active and physical apparently according to the information on the registration confirmation email that I printed off along with my performer application form which I’ll be bringing with me tomorrow afternoon it finishes at three thirty so fingers crossed I get out by four that’ll give me plenty of time to get home and digest the audition process.
I was thinking of going to meet some friends afterwards one of them is going back to scotland I said maybe as I don’t want to put myself under too much pressure just in case my train home doesn’t come in on time or something else crops up that’s the thing with public transport you never know what’s going to happen but to be honest it’s probably best that I have a quiet evening at home as I’ll be tired from all the physical stuff that I’ll be doing during the audition.
Hopefully if I do get into the community company at the old vic I’ll be able to still go to my drama group on a Thursday evening I’ve only put six until ten pm as the times that I wouldn’t be available of course during the run up to my performance with them I’ve not ticked that I can’t do six until ten pm because that’s crucial rehearse time but the good thing is my evening groups actual show won’t be until 13th July so that’s good I’ll work it out I’m sure but it’ll be good practice for me as I’ll need to build up my stamina for when I’m fully trained up, got my equity card and doing more professional theatre shows.
I’m sure I’ll probably be absolutely shattered by the end of it but it’ll be great experience and at least I’ll be able to put down that I’ve been part of something fantastic or I’ve had a go who knows it’ll be exciting anyway in a weird way I am very excited because I know that lots of famous british actors and american actors have done shows on the old vic’s stage so I’m sure my inner fan girl will come out at some point during the day.
Anyway I’ve got to sort myself out for my drama group tonight otherwise I’ll still be sitting here and I’ll be late for my class which would not be very good at all.
Thanks for bearing with me and reading another instalment of my random life I’ll be posting the link to this blog post onto my Twitter feed as well just in case you don’t get a chance to view my blog.
Well it’s nearly the middle of the week but never mind Friday will soon be here it’s also the day of my audition for the Old Vic Theatre ahhh!! Scary right? Anyway tomorrow night I’m going to see Kinder transport at my local theatre which is where I do my drama class on a Thursday night I was thinking of going to see it but I wasn’t sure when I was going to get the chance to because you know what it’s like time just runs away with you.
But a friend of mine wanted to go and see it and asked me if I’d like to come along as well and I thought well it’ll be lovely to see them as I haven’t seen them in a while so I said yeah why not I’m going to take them for a meal before hand as a little thank you they’d already brought the tickets being the organised soul that they are a bit like myself really.
I did manage to see another friend of mine last sunday who came round for dinner and we had a lovely chat then we watched Call the Midwife being the ‘wild things’ that we are lol!! No it was a lovely evening and it was great to see them as well I was so excited when I scrolled down my TV listings and there was Call the Midwife and it wasn’t a repeat yay!! The episode was good as usual it must be hard though trying to come up with decent story lines based around women in Poplar in the 1950s having children but it works.
I’m such a nerd but I can’t wait for the next episode this Sunday even better though I got a series one and two box set with the christmas special as well this christmas just gone I must start watching actually it’s been sitting amongst my DVD’s for ages but at least when I do get round to watching it I’ll be able to find it easily so that’s good I can’t stand having to rummage through loads of DVD’s to get to the film or box set that I want to watch.
Moving on from that I’ve been such a scatter brain today because along with washing up, sorting out laundry for the drier (I know there’s an irony there given that my name is DirtyLaundryGirl09 ha!!), clearing up after my new rescue cat oh yeah I didn’t mention him did I? Well he’s white and called Scumpy he’s been with me for about three months now he was outside for fifteen minutes today and he came back by himself through the cat flap I was very proud of him and yes he was very proud of himself too.
Anyway thanks for reading another instalment of my crazy random life I’ll try and be more organised tomorrow and get my other three blogposts typed up I’ll be posting the link to this one as I do for all my posts onto my Twitter feed.
Well it’s the start of another new week I was tied up with various things last week so I wasn’t able to post any new blog posts I thought I might get the chance to at the weekend but sadly I wasn’t so lucky but on the plus side I did get to see my sister and my nephew on Saturday which was lovely we had a very cultural day as we all went to the science museum which was actually really interesting I hadn’t been for years so it was nice to go and see how much it had changed.
Anyway later on I went to the V and A with my mum who’d met me after I’d finished with my sister and my nephew and we had a drink in their new tea rooms which were very elegant I have to say then we went to meet my other relatives for a meal it was nice because some of our relatives from Ireland had come over and they’re staying until Tuesday this week so it was great to catch up and see them the only thing was my mum had got the hotel mixed up that we were meant to be meeting them at thankfully it was the one opposite so we didn’t have to go too far.
We went over to a restaurant called STRADA which I had heard of but I hadn’t actually been into I’d only seen it from the outside but it was pleasant even though it was very busy to be honest it would have been nice to go on Sunday when it was less busy but never mind I was very tired when I got home though and then of course on Sunday an auntie of mine said they might come and used my main laptop at home I hand’t heard from them for most of the day until they turned up at about three so I had no escape from relatives that day.
My laptop was charging as well so I couldn’t use it because the battery was so low the best thing I could was leave it to charge up I did talk to my auntie just in case your wondering it wasn’t a very exciting conversation as she’s one of those people who tends to jump in with both feet and then come out with something that’s not very constructive at all mind you that didn’t stop her from implying that myself going to university was a waste of time because for some reason I can’t remember now we’d go onto something around that subject and then she starts patronising me a bit and I thought hold on I know that university can be a waste of time for some people.
But that’s their decision anyway a cousin of mine whose twenty nine now she’s doing another degree and flittering around would my auntie go round, use her main laptop at home and then patronise her in the process? Let me think no of course she doesn’t because she wants to make out that she’s so friendly and nice to all the other cousins let her get on with it that’s what I think but what I will say is that when I do my next play with my drama group on 13th July I’m not letting her know about it and if I end up performing in June at the Old Vic Theatre as part of their community company I’m not letting her know about that either I’ll let someone else tell her instead she’ll soon be changing her tune that will definitely happen.
I know you shouldn’t be awful about your relatives but sometimes they really wind you up mind you that happens in every family regardless of what anybody says when you’ve got to know them a little bit you find out it’s not all a bed of roses (that’s my cynical side coming out ooops!!) oh well that’s normal I think because otherwise if you can’t even get annoyed or even have an argument with your family it means you don’t have a healthy relationship because that’s what happens in life people annoy you or wind you up and people have flaws shock horror even me ahhh!! can’t believe I’ve just said that but it is true though.
Oh well I’ll get over but sometimes you just need to vent and get whatever it is off your chest I find blogging, songwriting, singing and acting helps personally for me but I’m sure you’ve all got your own creative ways of getting things off your chest the important thing is that I’ve got other people who I know are behind me like my sister, my mum, my aunt and uncle on my sisters side, friends from university you know people like that.
Anyway I really must go now otherwise I’ll never get dinner on the table and it’s fast approaching five o’clock thanks for reading I’ll be posting the link to this blog post up on my twitter feed and I’ll be posting some more new entries very soon.
Well it’s the middle of the week but never mind friday will soon be here so that’s good I hope the weather brightens up a bit though there’s been some sunshine for a little while but it seems to have disappeared again.
Anyway I had to run a few errands the other day which was why I didn’t get round posting a new blog entry it’s amazing you go to the supermarket and buy more than enough food then all of a sudden you have to go out again and buy some more it’s mind boggling on the plus side though I’ve heard back from the Old Vic Theatre Open Auditions and they sent me some dates and I’ve chosen the twenty fourth of January which is next week ahhh!! I know scary thought right? All I had to do was fill out a performer application form which I’ll then have to print off and bring with me on the day it starts a two pm and finishes and three thirty pm so hopefully fingers crossed I’ll be out by four.
Unusually for this audition I don’t have to prepare a monologue either which is great but at the same time kind of bizarre because I’m used to having to do that but at least it gives people a fairer chance though because it is nerve racking standing up and having to recite something that you’ve only just learnt but I guess as it’s an open audition it makes sense really.
My drama group goes back tomorrow evening which is great as it’ll be lovely to see everyone and catch up on what’s been happening I’ve got to bring in six pounds with me as I need to give that to my tutor so hopefully I’ll remember I’m sure I will do, then next week on Sunday my technical voice production course starts so that’ll be interesting it finishes on the sixteenth of February, so if I do get anywhere with the open auditions the actual preparation for the play doesn’t start until the end of march, but the call backs for the open auditions are on the second of february so I’ll need to warn my technical voice production tutor that I might not be in that day.
Anyway let’s see how it goes it’ll be amazing to be in the Old Vic Theatre again the last time I went there was to see Sweet Bird of Youth with a friend of mine but that seems like ages ago now but at the very least like I said before I can always put it down on my acting CV plus I can’t do anymore than my best fingers crossed hey.
I’ll be posting some more entries soon so keep reading and follow me on Twitter to get instant updates about what’s happening and when I’ve put up my latest blog entries.
Well it’s officially the start of a new year and before you ask yes I have made one new years resolution and that is not to be guilt tripped by my aunts and uncles which seems to be a running theme with them but never mind that’s family for you.
As for christmas it was just a quiet one for me I just spent it with my close family as opposed to spending it away in France it was nice to be home for change to be honest because it meant everyone could relax and not have to worry about packing or anything like that, mind you for the first time ever I actually went out for new years eve, I know even I was surprised would I do it again? The answer sadly is No because even though it was nice to be somewhere different it was extremely busy plus it was an awful lot of fuss just to go out for a meal with friends but never mind we’re just keep it low key I think when New Years comes around again.
Anyway I finished my introduction to Stanislavsky course just before the christmas holidays came around it was a good experience and I did genuinely learn a lot from it plus the people who I met on the course were nice too apart from one person who sadly ruined the last day for everyone including myself and basically kicked off for some reason, unfortunately it meant we wasted half the lesson but never mind my evening drama group that I’ve joined on Thursdays goes back next week I’ve already paid for the lessons over the ten week term and I asked for my payment to be transferred directly to the tutor.
I’ve also signed up for a community company with the Old Vic Theatre I had to sign up to their mailing list so hopefully I should get an email with dates and everything so that I can go along to their open auditions it’s for people aged sixteen and upwards hopefully I’ll get somewhere with that but if not at least it’ll be great experience to put down on my Acting CV along with the technical voice production course that I’ve signed for at the same place where I did my introduction to Stanislavsky course it starts later this month on 26th January and then I’ll re-audition for the one year foundation course and hopefully having completed the recommended courses suggested to me that should hold be in good stead but you never know really.
Anyway I’ve got to go and eat something now otherwise I’ll be fiddling around with this post and before I know it half my evening will be gone.
